In 2024, Uzbekistan’s national digital ecosystem, Uzum, became one of the country’s largest private taxpayers, contributing approximately 1,2 trillion UZS (over $94,8 million) to the national budget. This places the ecosystem in second place among private companies in terms of tax contributions. Over the past year, Uzum’s tax payments increased by 28%, accounting for 0,3% of Uzbekistan’s total budget revenues.
By the end of 2024, every third resident of Uzbekistan was using Uzum’s services. The ecosystem employs over 11,000 people across the country, actively creating jobs in the IT sector and providing opportunities for young professionals to grow in all regions. Last year alone, the company created nearly 3,000 new jobs — excluding those generated by Uzum’s partners.
Moreover, new jobs are also emerging among partners who use Uzum’s services and infrastructure to develop their businesses. These include entrepreneurs selling products on the national marketplace Uzum Market, restaurants, cafes, and shops collaborating with the fast delivery service Uzum Tezkor, and many others. As the digital ecosystem expands, new incentives are created for the formalization and growth of small and medium-sized businesses across the country.
